Pine Valley, N.Y. – The 20th-ranked Bombers clinched at least a share of the Empire 8 regular season title with a 14-2 victory over Elmira. Ithaca extended its conference-record winning streak to 15 straight league victories.

Brandon Geluso (Haborfields/Greenlawn) scored twice and added an assist. Junior
Kyle Golden (Ossining/Briarcliff Manor), sophomore
Logan Bobzien (Arapahoe/Littleton, Colo.) and
freshmen
Mike Giunta (B. Reed Henderson/West Chester, Pa.) and
Dwight Weld (East Chapel Hill/Chapel Hill, N.C.) each scored one goal. Sophomore
Mike Nowak (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) recorded a career-high three assists.
Junior
Dennis Butler (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) earned the victory and made two saves while allowing only one goal in 45 minutes of action.
The Bombers (9-3, 6-0 Empire 8) scored the first five goals of the game and led 8-1 after the first quarter. They would score the next six goals before Elmira (4-8, 1-5 Empire 8) scored the game’s final goal.
Ithaca hosts seventh-ranked Nazareth on Saturday at 1 p.m. With a victory, the Bombers would win the Empire 8 regular season title outright and would earn the top seed for the Empire 8 Championship Tournament.
